PulseSecureTM is safe because it uses low energy pulses which meet the following criteria:
It operates on less than 10,000 Volts
The pulse duration is less than 300 millionths of a second
The interval between pulses is greater than one second
The total energy does not exceed 5 joules
The design criteria specifies precautions against accidental contact
The design criteria also includes other specific safety precautions
Following this formula provides a short, sharp, regulated, safe but painful shock which is harmless and repels intruders. All installations are carried out to the Harper Chalice Group Code of Practice with safety checks carried out and a Certificate of Compliance issued.
PulseSecure is legal because:
It meets the safety criteria above
It complies with BS1772 Part 17 (the British Standard for Electric Security )
It complies with all Energisers and Safety Equipment complies with BSEN60335
It meets National safety and CE requirements
Internationally recognised warning signs are properly displayed
It is permissible 'to use reasonable force' to protect your property
The system is designed and installed to a code of practice in such a way that persons would only come into contact with the conductors deliberately, by trying to gain illegal access to the premises or when trying to damage the fence.
PulseSecure consumes a minimal amount of power, similar to an Intruder Alarm System or a TV on stand by.
PulseSecure is equipped with stand by batteries which automatically re-charge, again similar to an Intruder Alarm System. The system will operate without mains power for a minimum of ten hours with a healthy battery.
Switching it On and Off
PulseSecure is SET and UNSET in the same way as a conventional Intruder Alarm System. Entering the code (or using an optional proximity tag) within the protected area starts the exit timer and a warning sound is emitted. Simply close and lock the gates, wait for the final setting to be confirmed and leave. To enter the premises, unlock the gates and the entry timer will start and the warning tone will be heard. The system must be switched off before the entry time expires or a full alarm condition will be generated.
